Installation

Download the realXtend Server file from http://www.realxtend.org/page.php?pg=downloads.

  • Note that realXtend-server-0.5-BeneathTheWaves.zip contains all 3 servers & sample world preconfigured to run as a standalone server. This download is suggested for most people as their server download!
  • Optionally you can download the realXtend-server-0.5.zip, authentication-0.5.zip and avatarstorage-0.5.zip if you want to configure the servers yourself.


Starting the server

32-bit

Doubleclick StartStandaloneRexServer.bat (or in some packages StartServices.bat)
(The .bat should start 3 servers: Authentication.exe, AvatarStorage.exe and OpenSim.exe)

64-bit

Doubleclick StartStandaloneRexServer_64bit.bat

Notice! If you are running the server in Windows Vista, run the bat file in Administrator-mode.


Configuration settings

The server is preconfigured to run as a standalone server on your personal computer (127.0.0.1) without any outside access. If you just want to test the server yourself, after installation you don't need to modify any configuration files so stop here.
