Using World Library folder

From RexWiki

What is World Library folder

World Library folder is designed for situations when many people are building the same world and everybody wants to share all assets that they upload with all other people on that server.

Enabling from RexServer

See http://wiki.realxtend.org/index.php/Configuring_ModRex and search for WorldLibrary value.

How to use

  • When entering the world open your inventory
  • Then open OpenSim Library -> World Library
  • Modrex changes how this feature works: The subfolders contain the assets that are currently used in the world. If the asset isn't in use, then only the person who uploaded it sees it in his own folder.
  • The World Library folders don't update real-time, but only when they are opened the first time after user enters the world. So after uploading a 3d mesh you see it in the world library folder the next time you login to the server and look at the folder (assuming the mesh is used in prim). If someone else logins after you uploaded the 3d mesh and used it in the the world, they see it in their World Library folder.
  • If building a world cooperatively, when entering the world it is suggested that you open the 3D Models and Textures folders in the World Library folder (and you can close them immediately). This procedure loads up all the asset names to you so that when you start creating prims you see all the 3d meshes of the server in the rex tab's Mesh Name dropdown list.
